The People Awards

The Process

Awards Open

Entries for the awards open at the end of January and close towards the end of March, allowing plenty of time to prepare submissions.

After a simple registration, entries can be submitted online and must be backed up with supporting evidence. This might include written or video testimonials from colleagues, clients or partners, videos submitted by the nominee outlining their achievements, examples of work or initiatives relating to the category, data showing the impact of the individual’s achievements on the business, and so on.

Once judges have declared any conflicts of interest to the Judges Chair, each judge is allocated specific categories and will extensively study each entry in that category.

They will score and comment on each submission and this will be used to determine which candidates will be shortlisted.

Shortlist Announced

Successful nominees are contacted in person towards the end of May before the final shortlist is announced on thebusinesstravemag.com and in The Business Travel Magazine.

The number of shortlisted candidates in each category will depend on the quality of the entries.

Finalists will be sent marketing collateral to share on social media.

Final Judging

Judges then meet in London in early July to make the final decisions and also to interview the finalists in the Rising Star category.

The Business Travel People Awards ceremony

Winners are announced at The Business Travel People Awards ceremony, which usually takes place in September. They will be presented their awards during the evening event in front of their colleagues and industry peers.

In 2023, the event will take place at the recently-renovated De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London’s Covent Garden.

The evening will start with a drinks reception, followed by a sit-down meal in the Grand Hall, during which the winners will be announced.

Guests can buy tables (for up to nine people) or individual tickets.

In 2023, early bird tickets for the awards ceremony are available until June 23 for £150. After that date, the price will rise to £175. Tables (for up to nine) are available from £1350 (early bird) and then from £1575.

Ticket price includes the welcome drinks reception, ceremony and a three-course dinner with wine and coffee.

Once the shortlist is announced, tickets sell very quickly so it’s advisable to book your place as soon as possible.

The awards ceremony is the perfect occasion to bring your people together for a night to remember, especially if an individual or team in your organisation has made the shortlist.

The evening also provides a unique opportunity to network with the industry’s most influential figures, thank your existing clients, make new contacts, help secure new business and show your support for the wider industry.
